As people familiar with this site can see we have had a big change with its look and content. Now we’re running it as a blog, which will include news of productions, observations on the state of the media and reviews of films we are currently watching. However it’s not the only thing that has changed.

Earlier this year we produced two films with the intention of making something thoughtful and artistic. However on reflection, both films became entangled in those awful antics familiar from typical Hollywooden fayre. Not only did both films have too much focus on narrative but, production-wise, we ended up making things OK and fine rather than perfect and right. As much as it may be regrettable, we feel we can no longer devote anymore time to them.

Nevertheless, we have learnt an awful lot from these productions and hopefully everyone involved has gained some experience, if nothing else. We now realise that it is so easy and seductive to fall into the habits of blockbuster films and end up with something empty of meaning, even when you set out to do the exact opposite.
